Green Earth Fuels Executive Appointed to National Biodiesel Board's Sustainability Task Force
NBB to leverage industry experience and expertise of Green Earth Fuels Executive Jeff Trucksess
The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) has appointed Jeff Trucksess, Executive Vice President of Regulatory and Governmental Affairs and co-founder of Green Earth Fuels, LLC, a vertically integrated global leader providing a multitude of renewable, environmentally clean, high-value products to customers throughout the U.S. and the world, to the NBB’s inaugural Sustainability Task Force. Trucksess will join eight other members with diverse interests in the industry to ensure that the U.S. biodiesel industry continues to protect the environment, while producing jobs and reducing dependence on foreign oil.
“I am honored to be appointed to this task force,” said Trucksess. “As a committed partner in promoting environmental sustainability, Green Earth Fuels applies best practices in product quality, scalability, and streamlined logistics to alternative feedstock development and processing. I am pleased to share our expertise with this critical task force.”
According to the National Biodiesel Board (NBB), the Task Force will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability roadmap for the U.S. biodiesel industry that will:
• Quantify and maximize the environmental and social benefits of biodiesel
• Ensure that biodiesel produced and sold in the U.S. comes from sustainable resources
• Ensure the best environmental and safety practices are followed in the production of biodiesel
• Develop mechanisms to encourage responsible use of the world’s resources
• Discourage the use of non-sustainable agriculture practices worldwide in biodiesel production.
“We have assembled a team that has demonstrated outstanding technical expertise, leadership, and a dedication to creating solutions for sustainability issues,” said Emily Landsburg of Philadelphia Fry-o-Diesel, appointed Chair of the task force. “I look forward to working with Jeff and our other new members as we develop best practices that will be adopted throughout our industry.”
Trucksess has 15 years of experience in government relations, business development, and advocacy, with a successful history working with federal bodies such as the EPA, IRS, USAID, and USDA, as well as with regional organizations such as the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). He has collaborated on campaigns that have led to the passage of Renewable Portfolio Standards in Colorado, Texas, and Washington; the funding of a Production Incentive for biofuels in Texas; and the creation of a rebate program for Energy Storage.
Trucksess serves on the Board of the National Biodiesel Board and as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for the Biodiesel Coalition of Texas. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
